About the Event
We bring the community together with a celebration of everything that makes downtown Peterborough special. From April 1–25, 20 local restaurants and vendors go head-to-head, serving bold and creative mac & cheese dishes — from comforting classics to daring twists, even mac & cheese desserts.
Live music, a licensed beer garden, and the chance to connect with friends and neighbours make this outdoor festival a lively, welcoming experience, complete with a Judges Choice Award to crown the best bites in town.
Be part of the Grand Finale
The festival culminates in the Grand Finale at Quaker Foods City Square (215 Charlotte Street) — in 2026, held Saturday, April 25 — with live local bands throughout the day and a beer garden featuring local breweries, sweets, and beverages.
Vendors showcase their take on mac & cheese to an engaged foodie audience, compete for the Judge’s Choice Award, and are featured in festival promotions across social media, paid advertising, and local media outlets.
Who can apply: priority goes to downtown Peterborough businesses, with applications welcome from other local vendors — restaurants, caterers, food trucks, and culinary creatives. Applications open each winter and spaces are limited.
